Yuko Ose is a celebrated culinary expert, consultant, lecturer, and prolific author whose work has shaped the global understanding of Japanese cuisine and its cultural roots. Over the course of her career, she has authored more than 40 books, exploring not only the art of Japanese cooking but also the lifestyle, history, and values that underpin it.
Known for her engaging and dynamic presence, Yuko delivers inspiring lectures and workshops across Japan, providing strategic guidance to restaurants, food producers, and hospitality organizations. Her expertise bridges tradition and innovation, helping clients preserve the authenticity of Japanese culinary heritage while adapting it for modern audiences.
She is also the founder of the Japan Koji Culture Association, an organization dedicated to promoting the appreciation of koji—the essential Japanese fermentation starter responsible for creating iconic flavors in miso, soy sauce, sake, and a variety of other traditional delicacies. Through her work, Yuko continues to champion Japan’s rich culinary traditions, bringing their depth, artistry, and health benefits to audiences around the world.
